Co-op Testimonial:
“Working at BorgWarner gave me the opportunity to learn about a high-output manufacturing environment first hand. The experiences I had working out problems with engineers and people on the floor were eye-opening. Talking and discussing issues with people from all kinds of backgrounds takes
a finesse that can only be
gained
through experience.”

Co—op Program Overview

At BorgWarner Morse TEC, "driven" is a state of mind. Being a global pacesetter in the design and manufacture of automotive chain systems and components for engine timing, automatic transmission and four—wheel drive applications, we require the best talent the industry has to offer.

BorgWarner developed the co—op program over 20 years ago to bring in fresh and up—and—coming engineering talent. Our program consists of hiring (yes, this is paid) students to come in as "junior engineers." We employ approximately 27 students each semester. They are infused directly into major projects and their work has great effect on the progress of the company. Students work side—by—side with many experienced Engineers and Supervisors to help them gain the necessary knowledge to further their learning. They are not treated as glorified coffee getter's, but keep in mind, that a co-op position is designed to expose the students to all aspects of engineering life, some of which may be tedious and mundane, while others extremely exhilarating.

Throughout the co—op period the student gains valuable career—related experience and develops necessary technical, communication, and job skills that help them confirm their choice of major. This has helped us to attract young minds with an interest in learning and a desire to succeed.

Remember that for us, your co—op experience is comparable to an extended interview. By the time you leave, you will be familiar with BorgWarner's culture, community, and work ethic. In turn, we will have evaluated your strengths and weaknesses, your work habits, your personality, and most importantly: your potential as a future permanent employee.
