BorgWarner's proprietary Pawl One-Way Clutch features positive locking elements (pawls). It does not depend upon friction to function, thus delivering high torque capacity with low spin loss. The unitized, pre-assembled, "drop-in" design results in a low installed system cost. Currently in development is a modular clutch assembly that allows the end user to machine needed geometries providing a cost effective solution to lower volume applications.
